Another Collage day! Well, this one went a lot smoother than last week's, even though there was more involved with this one. In total, this one probably took me about 10 hours to complete over the week of working on it. Most of it was finding the right images and figuring out where I wanted them. This week's image is somewhat based on the style of artist Sherry Levine shown on the Collage Assignment outline: It is also based on an image I found online: I started by finding a silhouette I thought would fit well with my subject, Canadian Wildlife, and placed guidelines over top of it so I could accurately draw it and cut it out. Then I drew the image and cut it out: Then, I spent hours finding the right images I wanted for my collage. I saved them and sized them to the approx. size I required, and started organizing them on photoshop: I then printed the images and started cutting them out, taking my time with getting as close as I could to the image and making them as detailed a...
Oh gosh... what a tough one this was. So, before this week, I had never - I SAID NEVER!!!!! - done a collage before. I had never even done a dream board, or even hand written dreams down before. So, when it came to this week's assignment, I had no clue how to start, even after almost a whole week of looking up several collage artists and many many illustrations... I started by finding some scrapbooking paper, a scalpel, and printed off several silhouettes that caught my eye. After that I used photoshop to place images where I wanted them... Then I cut them out... Then, I touched up some of the discoloration... And, finally glued it together... Title: Me - Ste...
So for the next couple of weeks, our assignments are based on color. We've been asked to start off with exploring our immediate environment and reproducing colors based on our environment, using acrylic paints. For this week, we're only required to have two palettes done, but we will need at least 12 and we'll need to create a still life painting using one of those palette. Starbucks Cup and Sleeve Covid Mask Local Leaves Kleenex Box Hair Straightener Favorite Dresses Current Desktop Wallpaper Wet Bar Backsplash Decorative Fall Leaves Sunset on Halloween Painting in my Space Stuffed Pokémon (Espeon) For my Still Life painting, I chose my current Desktop Wallpaper colors, as I think they're so pretty. I set up a wine bottle with a lamp shining on it to cast the shadow in such a way that it was obvious where the light is. Size: 18" x 24" Paper: Newsprint Medium: Acrylic Paints Out of curiosity, I held up the finished painting up against the window, and really ...
