Art Assignment #2 - Contour Lines

Image
So this week's assignment was to draw 20 images of Contour Lines. What are Contour Lines?  A Contour Line defines a form or an edge.  We had 2 separate parts of the assignment; the first part was to draw 10 pictures of Exterior Contour Line, which basically the outline of an object, without anything to define what it is. The second part was to draw 10 pictures of both Exterior and Interior Contour Lines, which means not only the outline, but also the interior lines, still without any shading. With all the reading I had to complete with my other classes, I unfortunately wasn't able to complete this in time. I was able to complete 16 of the 20. I'm also not happy with the drawings, as I felt rushed to complete them, and will attempt to fix some of the contour lines to make them more 3D look. All images are done in a 8.5" x 11" sketchbook with an HB pencil.  Exterior Contour Lines Exterior & Interior Lines (edit)

This combination isn't always the greatest, especially when you're told to "draw something." Something... No specified subject. Do you know how many subjects there are to draw in the world? INFINITE!!! And being a perfectionist, I want to draw the RIGHT something. But what? I had to think about what I wanted to draw for a good long while... I figured I should draw something I'm familiar with, but I still wanted a challenge. I thought I should draw something that shows my personality a bit, but I didn't want it too obvious.  Four days after being given my assignment,...
